Cadets (aged from 13 – 15) and Active Juniors (aged from 15 – 17) have the opportunity to take part in fun and productive tasks which keeps them involved and enjoying their contribution to the wider community. Junior members can improve their personal development; peer interaction and team work; leadership skills; health & lifestyle awareness and organisational awareness.

Here is a detailed explanation of the Junior Development Pathways, development and training pathways beyond juniors can be found on our Jan Juc Lifesaving Pathways webpage. In summary, Juniors are involved in many areas of the Club, including:

  • Patrolling
  • Competition
  • Awards Training
  • Assisting with the Summer Holiday Program
  • Fundraising
  • Juniors Committee

The best way to stay up to date with what is going on for Juniors around the club is via our Facebook groups:

    • JJSLSC Juniors
    • “Go Juc” Jan Juc Surf Club
    • Jan Juc SLSC Competition Crew

Each season, under the leadership of the Junior Club Captain, nominations are taken for involvement in the Junior Committee.  This group is charged with mentoring and leading all juniors at Jan Juc.  They will be active in organising social and development events and generally be "go to" people amongst our juniors.  If interested look out for nominations being called before the start of each season.

Contact your Junior Club Captain if you need assistance in any of these areas, or just someone to point you in the right direction.
