INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT (IRB) AWARDS The IRB awards add to your skill set of advanced awards for patrolling, water safety and lifeguarding, and are prerequisite awards for Statewide Services such as Rescue Watercraft Operator Certificate. To be eligible for the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) awards you are required to hold a currently proficient Bronze Medallion and be of the prerequisite age. To become an IRB Driver you are required to hold a current BM and IRB Crew, with logged crewing hours over the past season. Please read the below course descriptions. Check here for dates: Jan Juc SLSC Club course calendar and enrol via LSV Online Course Enrolment INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT CREW (IRBC) SILVER MEDALLION INFLATABLE RESCUE BOAT DRIVER (SMIRBD) SIDE-BY-SIDE VEHICLE OPERATOR (SSV) The SSV award provides participants with the skills and knowledge to operate an SSV safely and effectively for lifesaving purposes. To drive Lifesaving Operational Vehicles members of at least 18 years of age must hold a current Driver’s License and are required to undertake training in specific vehicle and environment operations prior to use. If you do not hold a BM then you are required to undertake the Radio Operator Certificate (ROC) before operating the vehicle. This vehicle is used in many areas of member activity to move equipment and minimise OHS risks to members. |
